BACKPACK SNACK PACK FOR KIDS
Church volunteers pack these snack packs consisting of 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Juices, and 3 Snacks for the Belmont Head Start school children. These snack packs are delivered to the children each Friday! We are able to furnish these snack packs without any cost to the families involved thru donations received from our church congregation!
SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVE-AWAY
School supplies are purchased for children in kindergarten thru the 4th grade enrolled in the Belmont school system. Volunteers purchase, sort, and hand out these school supplies to school children before they return to school. In 2011, we provided supplies for 85 children! This ministry is made possible with donations from our church congregation.
In 2011, we collected & sent 90 shoe boxes filled with toys and other items to Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, a non-denominational Christian organization. These boxes are distributed to needy children around the world!
CHOW & CHAPEL AT WESLEY HOUSE
A group from our church travels to Wesley House on the campus of Northeast Community College in Booneville, MS to prepare and share a meal with the college students there. A devotional is also given by the Wesley Foundation Director.
WORK DAY AT CAMP LAKE STEPHENS
Each year a group from our church travels to Camp Lake Stephens for their annual work day. In 2011, participants cut & stacked 2 cords of wood, spray painted the swimming pool, and worked on building new shelters for the campers!
SMITHVILLE TORNADO RECOVERY
Volunteers traveled to Smithville, MS on several occasions to deliver supplies collected for victims of the 2011 tornadoes. Many also volunteered their time in helping victims rebuild and repair tornado damage.
FOOD PANTRY
Our church food pantry is accessible any time the need arises and food boxes are delivered to needy families during our "School Supply Give-Away" and during the holidays.
HELPFUL SAMARITAN FOOD PANTRY IN IUKA
Once a month, volunteers travel to Iuka to help at the food pantry there.
